2018 MASTER WORKSHOPS

Cairene style Milaya Liff

Jihan Jamal

International Master Instructor "Queen of Beldi"

What is Melaya Leff? This is a type of character dance done by Egypt's folk troupes. It uses a shawl-type of garment known as a melaya as a prop. In the melaya leff folkloric dance, the dancer plays the role of a mischievous young woman who flirtatiously plays a "conceal and reveal" game with her wrap.

Hind

International Performer, instructor & Choreographer

Hind’s Baladi – Shaaby is a combination of old world tradition with modern yet stylized moves for the dance student, refining some colloquial moves that may otherwise be interpreted in the West as risqué, while still keeping the essence and beauty of the unadulterated dance style which is so akin to all Egyptians and a part of their culture that is uniquely expressed through movement
